Community
The school is deeply rooted in the community and is a source of great pride for many.
The school community is intrinsically linked with the local community,
this is evidenced in lots of ways: the G.A.A. maintain our extensive school grounds in exchange for use of the pitch for underage games, our school hall is used for training for both the G.A.A. club and the camogie club. Local volunteers, including parents and T.Y. students come to coach the pupils in basic G.A.A. skills during the year and we all enjoy the annual blitz which is run in collaboration with all staff and past pupils. Bandon Rugby club also come to coach pupils from 2nd class up and we also take part in the Bandon Athletics Club annual cross country races. The hall is also used by other community groups , including Comhaltas and Foroige. The senior classes use the parish hall for cooking classes: pancakes are a big favourite!
