The school community were very saddened to hear of the passing of Mrs. Mary Kiely.

Mary taught in the school since it’s opening in 1971 until her retirement 23 years later.

She was a welcome visitor to the school on many occasions and was always on hand to share her knowledge and gifts with the staff and pupils. She took a special interest in all she met and will be fondly remembered by the many pupils whom she taught and mentored long after they left the school.

Pictured above are Mary with  the principal Eoghan O Suilleabhain and fellow teachers Niall Leahy, Mary Canty, Breda O’Dwyer and Jerry O’Sullivan on their first day in September 1971.

The photo to the right shows Mary at our Golden Jubilee celebrations in June 2022 with some of her first pupils and Marie O’Callaghan representing her son Sean, R.I.P.

We pray that Mary will rest easy
